I can not help but think about what life is going to be like post graduation. It is what I think about every single day since the beginning of the year and it is what I will continue to think about until May 19. Its going to be a very big change but I worry about where I will be and what I will be doing. I just find the process very stressful and difficult as I am trying to finish my last semester strong and work at two internships and have somewhat of an enjoyable Senior Year, while still managing to apply for jobs.
Occasionally the situation becomes frustrating when all the jobs lined up, are for everything else but your major or when it is for your major they (employers) require years of experience. When they require 2-3 years for an entry level job and they try recruiting recent graduates I wonder what they thought we did the last four years of college. I certainly did not think about an internship my freshmen year, instead just to do well my first year. I think a lot of this aggravation stems from the fact that I am in a very competitive world and city for that matter. There are several opportunities but it definitely requires some hard work and that extra push just to be considered for an interview.
It took a lot of work and patience to have received the two internships I have now. I am always competing with hundreds of applicants and every word typed on my resume and every word spoken during a phone interview matters. I once applied for a marketing internship for a major television network and during the phone interview, the one thing that impressed the HR employee aside from my resume, was the fact that I know the address of the building. I knew the cross section streets. It was something that simple that gave that extra push. I was one of a few hundred applying for this position, but knowing the address got me an interview, but my lack of experienced years prevented me from getting the job. I realized, though, that knowing as much as possible on a company can really make a difference.
The next two months are going to be very busy, stressful, and frustrating, but it will be worth it in the end because I can not wait any longer to move on and graduate and be done with school for a few years at least.

From the Ground Up
Being that graduation is approaching, I can only think about what will I be doing once I get my degree. It is stressful and confusing. The idea of starting my own company is not really something that goes through my mind. I just think it can be too risky, on the other hand if managed right very successful. to start a business you must have the drive and passion, I think I would be a little uneasy with so much at stake. However, the only possible way I would actually go through with starting my own business would be to have a solid product or service that I know will sell.
I need to have faith in my product or service and I would do a lot of marketing research prior to opening to see about the demand. It will be time consuming to have to go through so much research before opening, but it will allow the process to be easier knowing what the consumer is looking for. I personally know of starting a business as I watch my parents start several businesses to watch them fail, but they stuck it out and continued to strive and now they have a successful company. The road is long and hard, but there is hope.
Entrepreneurship NYC, I believe can be rough with so much of everything already present among the five boroughs. Your store has to have great quality with people willing to spend enough for quality, also I believe location will also be difficult, because NYC is so diverse one needs to know who their target market is and if they are in the surrounding area. Another difficulty will be starting up. NYC is very expensive and rent alone will take a lot out of someone. Its a hit or miss and someone who is willing to go through it for either one must have the ambition and the strength cause I sure don't think I can do it.

Jobs on Music
Music theft has been and still is a hot topic among several industries besides music. It effects many companies such as Apple, the producer of the iPod can hold thousands of songs, many illegally downloaded. Recently Steve Jobs the CEO Apple released his thoughts on music and its defense to diminish the stealing of music.
One of his alternatives for the future to help ease the situation was stated as so:

One of his alternatives for the future to help ease the situation was stated as so:
"A successful repair will likely involve enhancing the music store software, the music jukebox software, and the software in the players with new secrets, then transferring this updated software into the tens (or hundreds) of millions of Macs, Windows PCs and players already in use."
Jobs feels that companies would need to work together in order to prevent the leaks. He wants to be able to work as one to help out each company. I understand Jobs position and how his alternatives came about, and how he is looking for the best of Apple. There can always be ways to prevent but it will be extremely difficult to completely eliminate. Someone will always seem to find a way, but trying to stop it is at least a step.
Music Industry
I remember back in the day (6 yrs or so) when it was easy to make my play list with Audio Galaxy by just taking files from other users and dragging them into my list. It was certainly an easier way to get music fast and free for that matter. I have never made CD's with my list but just listened to it on my computer while at work. I have always bought CD's until I realized that I could burn them from my friends who had the CD. It was the whole "peer to peer" concept that I was not so aware of until the the music industry targeted Napster. When that ordeal occurred, my playlist from audiogalaxy became obsolete and I was aware of how illegal it was to download music from other files.
Though very convenient, FREE, and still in existence, illegal downloading has become more apparent among teenagers and college age students. I could understand where the music industry was coming from when record sales had dropped, but people today are looking for expediency and a way to save money.
